Diamond Bling Jewelry

Diamonds are use in many types of bling jewelry. Not so much in chains and necklaces but usually in earrings and watches. Diamonds in watches are usually set in various locations around the bezel or inside to mark the hours. Calculating the value of diamond jewelry is much more complicated than the precious metals. This is because the precious metals value only depends on two factors, amount, purity. Diamonds value depends on the size of the diamond, the karat of the diamond, the karat in relation to the size, and how the diamond is cut and prepared. Diamonds are the hardest natural material. Because of this, they do not scratch easily. It would would take another diamond, or one of the very few materials that are harder than diamonds, but those materials are very hard to come by. One way to test the authenticity of a diamond is to scratch a piece of un-needed glass with it. If it is real it should scratch the glass. If anyone ever tells you to test it by scratching your car window with it, do NOT do it. Diamond's resistance to scratching is one of the key reasons they are the gem of choice for wedding rings, since wedding rings are usually worn for many years, day after day.
